With its flawless finishes and otherworldly movements, Greubel Forsey watches are anything but understated. However, the brand has found a way to make its already excellent Quad Tourbillon watch even more compelling. how? By giving it a striking polished blue-gold dial. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the new Greubel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon blue.

The Quadruple Tourbillon has been a mainstay at Greubel Forsey, and it got a well-deserved makeover in 2018 to keep things fresh. The striking polished blue gold dial is attractive, especially when paired with a red gold case. The choice of the blue dial made sense to me as previous Greubel Forsey watches with blue dials, such as the Greubel Forsey Contemporary Tourbillon 24 Seconds "Royal Blue", have been well received.
Aside from the blue dial, the rest of the Quadruple Tourbillon Blue watch is pretty much standard fare—if you can call anything Greubel Forsey makes "standard." The highlight of the quad tourbillon blue is of course the quad tourbillon. Essentially, there are two double tourbillons coupled through a differential, averaging their rates. When you consider that a single tourbillon already balances the effects of gravity on the balance wheel, you start to realize that this quadruple tourbillon configuration just takes the concept to the extreme.
Needless to say, the campaign has been extensively done. The spec sheet I'm looking at right now lists a long list of finishes and treatments made to the watch, including hand-bevelled bridges, polished countersinks, ruled sides, engraved gold plates, hand-polished tourbillon carriage posts and many, many more .
For many, Greubel Forsey focuses on sophistication and artistry, and the Quadruple Tourbillon Blue perfectly embodies these qualities - a highly complicated watch and adorned with superlative craftsmanship Handling movement. This is a special watch, no doubt, but only 8 of each precious metal are produced, and the price tag might leave you with a few Ferraris with change, which also takes a very special kind of watch collector to own to get it . If you're that kind of collector, all I can say is, "You're lucky."
